Welcome
Welcome to the official Medal of Honor: The UT3 Edition site!
This total conversion for Unreal Tournament 3 aims to make a full-featured port of Medal of Honor: Allied Assault (and probably expansions later on) with a couple of new additions, while trying to maintain to original's game feel. Besides fully customizable characters, there will be an anti-cheat system, and even a modding system (in the form of mutators) for those who wish to make mods for this mod, just like they did for Medal of Honor. The only downside I can think of is that you won't be able to use clientside mods anymore, but the serverside mutators will make everything good.
Please, feel free to browse around and register.
by LennardF1989 on June 14, 2008, 10:59:23 PMIt's been like 2 weeks now since I sent my very diplomatic and friendly e-mail to the license department of EA.
I first contacted the Dutch support who gave me a very fast reply (kudo's for that) on who to contact off-shore. Though, I might contact them again, since EA's license department hasn't replied to my mail at all. I must say I'm not pleased with this, since I won't continue this project untill I have an official word that I am allowed to.
It came to me that EA Games work very sleeky. There was a MoH mod for the HL2 engine once that had the same goal as me (MoH: Source, check MoDDB for their died entry). When they started getting results, EA Games demanded they stopped working on the mod or they would undertake legal actions. This is what I heard, I'm not sure it's true or not, so I won't be accusing anybody.
Even though, I just hope to recieve an reply before Monday, else I will sent the exact same mail again, and a copy to the Dutch support. I will also be asking for an explanation, since I don't think this is a way to threat someone who is expecting a diplomatic e-mail. At least let me know it's being forwarded to someone higher on the ladder! Also note that I at least took the time to contact them, I think that should be rewarded with some kind of an official answer.
Lennard Fonteijn.
Ps. If anyone feels like it, please discuss this matter. 230 Views | 0 Replies

by LennardF1989 on May 14, 2008, 08:42:32 PMHi all, Sorry for any inconvience caused, but due to some PHP upgrades by my host, some cookie settings were messed up, causing problems as: - Not being able to log out - Not having access to posting threads - Not having access to administration section - Etcetera I would like to welcome our first 2 users who signed up. Hopefully more will follow so discussions can be started. Don't forget you can actualy reply to this topic aswell Coming Monday I will start with my final exams, which should take around 2 weeks to finish. After that, I have to go to a Math class for 3 weeks. So don't expect much from me coming weeks. Though, if something changes, this will be the place you'll first know about it. About the porting of maps... It doesn't look very good. I can port everything from models, animations, textures, sound, I could even replicate MoHAA in code, just the maps won't work along with me. I hope someone could actually help me with this. Ps. Don't be afraid to join the community and start discussing certain subjects, it has to begin somewhere! 238 Views | 0 Replies

by LennardF1989 on April 13, 2008, 06:09:56 PMYes! After like browsing the entire internet I found the source code of a tool that directly converts a MAP file to T3D. The T3D is an old format, nevertheless, it's portable to UT3. Besides that, I also know a way to convert exisiting BSP files now, with needing to decompile them first, I haven't realy tested it, but I will in the coming weeks. When I'm able to properly port a level, I'll start porting more models and such.
For now, let's dive into some more exams! Yay! 248 Views | 0 Replies

by LennardF1989 on April 10, 2008, 10:47:31 PMYes, it's true, the tool I announced yesterday has entered version 1.0 status. Which means it's fully working and ofcourse user-friendly (as in, people can't mess up what it's doing ). It's quite fast for small files, but when a file is around 25 MB, fixing the MESH_NORMALS can take up quite some time (around 67 minutes at full speed), there is no workaround for this, since this fix is VERY important. Anyway, screenshot: 293 Views | 0 Replies

by LennardF1989 on April 09, 2008, 11:35:03 PMI didn't felled like studying for some hours, so I thought: "A heck, I'll just go and make my first SDK tool". Here's a screenshot: It's all a bit blend now, since I'm the only one that has to understand it for now. Anyway, it is used to fixed format errors in the ASE versions of the map files (which can be ported to T3D, which can be imported by UT3). It also adds support for textures in ASEtoT3D. More on this later when it's out of pre-alpha. 266 Views | 0 Replies
